Can you play for real money without depositing?
Yes. Claim the welcome offer, and $5 in free credit lands in your wallet — no card, no deposit. That covers up to two head-to-head money matches at the $2.50 minimum stake. Win a $2.50 match and you take $4.50 (the $5 pot minus the flat 10% fee); win a $5 match and you take $9. The winnings are real money, not site points.
There is no bookmaker and no house edge on Locked: you stake against another real player, both stakes sit in escrow during the match, and the better player takes the pot. The free credit is simply your first stakes, on us.
How the free $5 works
- Open the claim link and create your free account — the $5 is credited on claim, with a 7-day countdown visible in your wallet.
- Add the gaming ID for your game (EA ID, PSN, Xbox or 2K name) so opponents can find you in-game.
- Create a challenge from $2.50 or accept one from the open lobby. Both stakes lock into escrow when the match is accepted.
- Play the match on your console as normal. Submit the result with a screenshot — the winner is paid instantly, and disputes are reviewed by a human admin within 24 hours.

- 7 days from claiming it. Unused free credit expires after that — the countdown is shown in your wallet, so there are no surprises.
- Why does Locked require a deposit before withdrawing winnings?
- It is an anti-abuse rule, not a profit rule. Free credit with no deposit gate gets farmed by multi-account rings, which ruins the offer for real players. Locked also verifies device and gaming-ID identity at claim time. The deposit can be as small as the platform minimum and remains your money.
