New player offer · terms in plain English

Your first deposit, doubled.

New Locked players get a 100% match on their first deposit, up to $25 in bonus. Put in $5 and you play with $10; put in $25 and you play with $50. Stakes start at $2.50 in EA FC, Madden and NBA 2K. The bonus carries a 3× playthrough and expires 7 days after it lands — both explained below, in plain English.

Can you play for real money without depositing?

No — and any platform telling you otherwise is describing a coupon, not a money match. A stake has to be funded before it can lock into escrow, because the pot you are playing for is the other player's money and yours.

What Locked does instead is take the first deposit and double it. Put in the $5 minimum and you have $10 in the wallet; put in $25 and you have $50, which is the largest version of the offer. At the $2.50 minimum stake that is twenty head-to-head matches before you have spent a cent of your own beyond the deposit.

There is no bookmaker and no house edge on Locked: you stake against another real player, both stakes sit in escrow during the match, and the better player takes the pot minus a flat 10% fee.

How the first-deposit match works

  1. Open the offer link — it lands on Run It, where the terms are restated before you sign up — and create your account. Creating one costs nothing and takes about 30 seconds.
  2. Add the gaming ID for your game (EA ID, PSN, Xbox or 2K name) so opponents can find you in-game.
  3. Make your first deposit, anything from $5. The match lands with it — 100% of the deposit, capped at $25 — with a 7-day countdown visible in your wallet.
  4. Create a challenge from $2.50 or accept one from the open lobby. Both stakes lock into escrow when the match is accepted.
  5. Play the match on your console as normal. Submit the result with a screenshot — the winner is paid instantly, and disputes are reviewed by a human admin within 24 hours.

Welcome offers in this space have a reputation problem: competitors bury the conditions and collect one-star reviews when players find out at cash-out time. We publish ours next to every mention of the offer — here is each one, and why it exists:

The match100% of your first depositDeposit $5, we add $5. Deposit $25, we add $25.
Maximum bonus$25The ceiling. Deposit more than $25 and the bonus stays $25 — the rest is just your own money.
Minimum deposit$5Below that there is no match. $5 in means $10 to play with.
Playthrough3× the bonus before it can be withdrawnOn the largest bonus that is $75 staked in matches. It exists so the offer is about playing, not cashing out a coupon.
Expiry7 days from the moment it landsThe countdown shows in your wallet. Unused bonus is removed — never your own money, and never your winnings.

One thing that is not on the list: there is no condition attached to your own money. Cash you deposit and winnings from cash matches are withdrawable from day one. The 3× playthrough applies to the bonus we add on top, and it ends when that bonus is cleared or expires.

What can you play with the bonus?

Every mode and format on the platform — bonus balance behaves exactly like deposited money except for the withdrawal rule:

  • EA FC — Online Seasons, FUT Friendlies or Play a Friend, on PS5, Xbox or PC, on EA Sports FC 27 or EA Sports FC 26.
  • NBA 2K — head-to-head Play Now matches, on NBA 2K27 or NBA 2K26.
  • Madden — 1v1 head-to-head, on Madden NFL 27 or Madden NFL 26.

Comparing platforms first? Our honest comparison of Players' Lounge alternatives covers fees, escrow and dispute handling across eleven sites — including where each one beats us, and the five we checked and left off. Wondering whether we are trustworthy at all? Is Locked legit? walks through escrow, disputes and payouts — and the things we cannot claim yet.

If what you want is evidence rather than an explanation, the two free Welcome Cups are published in full. The EA FC 26 Welcome Cup payout table lists 16 winners splitting $200 across 64 entrants; the Madden 26 Welcome Cup payout table lists 8 winners splitting $200 across 30. Every row carries the player's name and the amount they received.

Frequently asked questions

Not for money — a stake has to be funded before a match can lock into escrow, so there is no no-deposit path to a paid 1v1 on Locked. What there is instead is a match on the first deposit: put in the $5 minimum and you play with $10, put in $25 and you play with $50. The bonus carries a 3× playthrough before it can be withdrawn and expires 7 days after it lands.

100% of it, up to $25 in bonus. Deposit $5 and the bonus is $5; deposit $25 and the bonus is $25, which is the ceiling — deposit more than that and the bonus stays $25 while the rest is simply your own money. The minimum deposit that triggers any match at all is $5.

It is bonus balance, and it stakes matches exactly like deposited money — same opponents, same escrow, same pots. Anything you win with it is real money credited to your wallet. The bonus itself becomes withdrawable once it has been played through 3×, which on the largest bonus means $75 staked in matches. Full fee math is on the pricing page.

It expires 7 days after it lands and the unused bonus is removed from your balance. Your own deposit and anything you won with real money are untouched, and the countdown is visible in your wallet the whole time.

Because the alternative is an offer that pays people to leave. A bonus with no playthrough gets deposited, matched and withdrawn by multi-account rings within the hour, which ends the offer for everyone who actually plays. Locked also verifies device and gaming-ID identity when the bonus is granted. The playthrough applies only to the bonus — your own deposit and your cash winnings stay withdrawable throughout.

The pot minus a flat 10% fee. A $2.50 stake from each player makes a $5 pot and pays the winner $4.50; a $5 stake each makes a $10 pot and pays $9; a $25 stake each pays $45. There is no bookmaker and no house position — you stake against another player, and the better player takes the pot.

Locked is designed to operate as a skill-based contest under UIGEA, which distinguishes games of skill from chance-based gambling — head-to-head matches are decided by who plays better, with no odds and no house edge (see how it works). State laws vary, and users are responsible for confirming legality in their jurisdiction — this is not legal advice.

Creating an account is free. Both entries sit in escrow until the match is over, and the pot goes to the winner. No bookmaker, no house edge.
